    OptiNatalVit contains 400 micrograms (μg) of Folic Acid (as Methylfolate) and also provides a rich source of Vitamins B6, B12, C, Iron, and Zinc along with Acidophilus, Bifidobacterium & Bulgaricus in a convenient one-a-day capsule. OptiNatalVit is suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

    Supplemental folic acid intake increases maternal folate status. Low maternal folate status is a risk factor in the development of neural tube defects in the developing foetus. Folate contributes to maternal tissue growth during pregnancy.

    Folate, Iron and Vitamin B12 have a role in the process of cell division. Vitamin C increases Iron absorption, and along with B vitamins contribute to normal immune function. Zinc contributes to normal DNA synthesis and to normal fertility and reproduction.

    The Department of Health’s Chief Medical Officer recommends all pregnant and breastfeeding women should take a daily supplement containing 10μg of vitamin D.
