GUARANA SEED TEA
Paullinia cupana
Guarana is a member of the Sapindaceae or ‘soap berry family, which includes relatives like the horse chestnut and the lychee. It is a climbing plant native to the Amazon Basin where it thought some 80% of plant species exist. The Guarana plant has large leaves and clusters of flowers and is best known for the seeds from its fruit, which are about the size of a coffee bean.
The associations with coffee run deep in this plant as the herb is often used as an alternative to coffee in both North and South America as well as throughout Europe.
NutriPunkt Guarana Seed Tea is bitter with undertones of earth and wood. It is often used as an additive to other herbs to make for a more stimulating infusion.
